OUR TRUST
"Our aim is to ensure that provision at NSB allows all students to maximise levels of achievement both inside and outside the classroom and for students to be given outstanding levels of care, support and guidance as they navigate their way through the various key stages in their preparation for future career pathways. Welcome from the Executive Headteacher – The Northampton School for Boys Academy Trust

The NSB Trust is built from an illustrious heritage; the first school, Northampton School for Boys was founded in 1541 by Thomas Chipsey in Bridge Street and moved to the present site in 1911. His fellow trustees included Laurence and Edward Manley, William Brightwell and Laurence Washington – an antecedent of George Washington, first President of the USA. These form the basis of the school house system Brightwell, Chipsey, Manley and Washington.
In September 2023 The NSB Trust was delighted to open its second school built on these traditions and foundations, Northampton School. Sited outside Moulton it is a very modern new build school with the latest facilities. Like its predecessor the Trustees and Governors feature within its very fabric including Peter Bason, Mary Kay, Morcea Walker and Oliver Harris. These form the basis for its house system, Bason, Harris, Kay and Walker.
The NSB Trust prides itself on the whole offering to a child and each schools facilities and structure demonstrate the thirst to acknowledge the whole child’s development. Students across any school within the Trust will take an active role in activities beyond the classroom and time is made during the school day to facilitate this.
The facilities spectacularly combine the best in terms of tradition, allied to innovation, advanced technology, arts and sport.

As part of the Trust’s vision, the staff within The NSB Trust are determined to build an unrivalled package of extracurricular activities which meets the interests and talents of all students. An active student is both a happy and successful one. The NSB Trust ensures that a strong extracurricular programme exists alongside an inspirational academic curriculum delivered through highly effective and impactful teaching based on insightful, evidence-based research.
Our aim is for students to be given outstanding levels of care, support and guidance as they navigate their way through the various key stages in their preparation for future career pathways.
Our GCSE and A Level examination results at NSB are exceptional, currently topping the county league tables and national tables. It is the Trusts vision that all students within the NSB Trust schools will continue this success.
Our schools include accolades of being ranked as the highest performing state school in England for competitive sport, winning national titles in rugby, basketball, football and rowing in the last three years alone and various musicians, actors and dancers having performed on respective national stages to great acclaim. Recent inclusions, in September 2018, an invite as one of only two schools in the country to perform in front of HRH Prince Charles at the Royal Albert Hall. In 2017 we were also awarded the prestigious title of ‘Educational Establishment of the Year’ at the ERA national education awards ceremony held at the National Conference Centre, Birmingham.
If you are successful in gaining a place for your child, we will expect you to support the school they attend within the Trust and our policies and practices.
