Within The NSB Trust, our 6 Core Principles provide a shared framework for expert teaching and learning across all our schools. They underpin our approach to professional development and work to ensure that every teacher is supported to deliver high-quality classroom practice for all students.

Each principle is grounded in evidence-informed and research-based approaches to teaching and learning. Drawing on cognitive science and best practice, the framework reflects what we know has the greatest impact on how students learn and retain knowledge.

These 6 Core Principles create a consistent, shared language about teaching and learning across the Trust, enabling teachers to collaborate meaningfully, share best practice and build collective expertise.
